Rob Gronkowski, the record-breaking stake winner who awed fans at both Palm Beach and Southland last year, has been named captain of the 2013 All-America team.

The 2013 eight-member squad—which is the 51st All-America team in history, dating back to 1963, is sponsored by the American Greyhound Track Operators Association (AGTOA).

Others named to the team are SH Avatar, Kiowa Producer, U Too Pure Silk, Smokey Joe, Kiowa Jordan Doc, Venus Espinosa and Flying Lone Wolf. All eight of the honorees are male—which last happened in 2004.

These eight greyhounds will be honored with All-America awards at the Greyhound Hall Of Fame ceremony on Thursday night, Apr. 24, during the NGA Spring Meet in Abilene, Ks. NGA prizes—the Rural Rube and Flashy Sir Awards—will also be presented that evening; winners of those awards will be announced in early March.
